PROJECTS | Vineyard RE StudyVineyard Renewable Energy Feasibility Study Objective: Assist a large vineyard in offsetting over 60,000 gallons of diesel usage per year with renewable energy. Result: Sage developed conceptual renewable energy systems and diesel-to-electric conversion plans, providing the vineyard with a range of options for offsetting the vineyard's energy usage with renewable energy systems.
Services: A range of conceptual alternatives were developed to explore renewable energy for the vineyard. The study included conversion of several large diesel irrigation pumps to electric motors, electrical distribution alternatives, and sizing of onsite electrical generating systems. Financial modeling of capital and operating costs, incentives and avoided energy costs was performed. Renewable resources investigated included solar and wind, with conceptual renewable energy systems ranging up to 550 kW. |
