The Taft Union High School District in Kern County, CA partnered with Sage to plan and procure solar PV for two high schools. The local Taft Midway Driller reports on how the District is generating energy savings with a solar project that’s expected to pay for itself within 10 years.
The Kern High School District has announced an agreement with SunPower Corporation to design and build 22 megawatts of solar power systems at 27 KHSD sites. The largest contracted commitment to solar power by any school district in the U.S., the project is estimated to achieve $80 million in savings over 25 years. Sage Renewable Energy Consulting has worked closely with Kern HSD to solicit proposals, guide the vendor selection process, and ensure that District goals are met from design through implementation.
